Transformers week, part 2 July 24, 2011

Its a funny coincidence, Cartoon Network had the original Transformers movie on last night. Its sad, though, the movie mainly focused on the humans, not the transformers themselves. Another shame is that alot of times the dialogue would break up the flow of the movie (example, when the kids first meet them, Ratchet says something innapropriate and it kinda throws a wrench in the excitement of seeing them fully formed for the first time). If you ever get a chance to read the book based on the first movie I would highly reccomend it. Its done WAY better. Dialogue is more appropriate for little kids to watch (but its not childish, its more mature with how it deals with certain situations), etc, VERY good. But even though they didnt do it quite right i still love these characters. Here’s the third autograph card i have of them…

Worf is one of my favorite characters on Star Trek (and someday im going to get his auto) and the storyline of Alexander (his son) gave him so much dimension. It really was a shame that the writers didnt have Alex on more. I enjoyed seeing them interact. When Worf went to DS9 and eventually toward the end they had a new alex on, i really liked the man that played him there (i heard that Mr Bonsall didnt want to return to acting to they got someone new to play him). Hopefully someday i can get his auto as well. Till then enjoy (this was one of the few autos i wanted from the Complete TNG series… and i was blessed enough to pull it from one of my boxes lol).

EDIT… I TRADED THIS CARD FOR A BELANA TORRES AUTO THAT I REALLY NEEDED… THIS WAS A SWEET CARD WHILE I HAD IT BUT NOW ITS IN THE HANDS OF SOMEONE WHO WILL LOVE IT JUST AS MUCH AS I DID. 🙂
So believe it or not i won this card from our big case break that i hosted…AND…big news for me…:D… Rittenhouse (the maker of the ST cards) actually plugged my youtube break on their facebook!! 😀 😀 😀 YAY! wow i feel like a celeb or something. LOL X-D

Anyways, i did win this card but the part where i actually won it was cut off in my youtube video. I just hope that none of the other people that were involved in the break thought that i was trying to steal it. Id been honest with them the whole time doing the break so they wouldnt have a reason not to believe me. Well anyways, here it is! Numbered 10(!) of 300!!! Captain Picard pin card.

back…

My Indy boxes were the best of my birthday breaks… another great pull (this one from Heritage), Shortround!

My first Indiana Jones movie i ever saw was this movie, “Temple of Doom” and i HATED it. lol seriously. But the way i saw it was all wrong. I was … maybe 6 years old and my daycare showed this to us (yeah SERIOUSLY showing that to a bunch of 6yo’s). I had nightmares about that scene on the bridge where the kid is yelling to Indy “COVER YOUR HEART! COVER YOUR HEART!” (lol – i laugh about it now because ive seen it now as an adult and how cheezy it was). I never saw another indy movie till the 90s when i was in my early teens and i saw “Last Crusade” and it became one of my all time favorite movies. I worked up my nerve to finally watch Raiders a few years ago (yeah it freaked me out that bad) and when i saw it and saw what i was afraid of i was like “Wha? i was afraid of that???” lol (hey i was a little kid). So now i totally love this trilogy. Im probably someday … if they have them on sale again, im going to break another case of this stuff. 🙂

I LOVE these costume cards! I swear they are the greatest invention since sliced bread! lol
When i first started collecting ST cards in the 90s the best thing that you could get in a box was an auto card (and still they are pretty sweet) but these are insanely cool. 😀 Wonder who thought of cutting up a piece of clothing and putting them in a trading card? I know there’s alot of debate about weather the article should be cut up in the first place (i guess you could say in essance it destroys a piece of history) but i think its a neat idea, I love the fact that i could own this piece of history (something that the people i grew up with watching actually wore in the episodes that i love). They have tons of them now and i plan on hopefully someday owning every single Star Trek costume card ever made (and a few from my favorite movies). Here’s one that i got in a simple trade from what i got in my birthday boxes ( cant remember which thing i traded it for though)..

Well remember all the crap i got in the boxes for my birthday? I traded them for some cool stuff! 😀 Ill start my card of the day posts again since i got quite a few things, thankfully.
Starting with my stuff that i actually DIDNT trade away….
I got a case of Indiana Jones KOTCS… these were my hits

Everything but the Ray Winstone i pulled (and i traded some inserts for it). I was VERY happy about the Shia Labeuf auto!! That was the only card i pulled from my 30 boxes that i REALLY wanted. Karen Allen was great too (now just if i could have pulled Indy himself! lol). Ill have the pulls from the IJ Heritage case up tomorrow. Till then, be good to each other kids! 🙂
